Scarborough Athletic will return to the Scarborough Sports Village after a year away with a pre-season friendly against Barnsley.
Football is officially coming home to Scarborough as Scarborough Athletic have announced their first game back at the Scarborough Sports Village stadium in over a year.
The club was forced to spend the entirety of last season playing their home matches down the coast in Bridlington after unexpected structural issues were discovered with the pitch in Scarborough.
Now, the team is preparing for a highly anticipated return to their home ground, kicking off with a pre-season friendly against Barnsley Football Club.
The homecoming match will take place on Saturday the 25th of July, with a confirmed kick-off time of 1pm.
A spokesperson for Scarborough Athletic said:
"This will be another momentous day in our history and more details around ticketing etc will be announced in due course."
Before the players take to the pitch at the Scarborough Sports Village, supporters will have the opportunity to see the team's new look at the official home kit launch event.
The launch is set to take place on Saturday the 20th of June at The Tow Bar, located on Mill Lane in Cayton Bay.
Organisers have promised an afternoon of fun for all the family, complete with a bouncy castle, food and drink, face painting, and familiar faces modelling the new kit.
The club recommends that fans get to the event early to ensure they secure a space, adding that picnic blankets and portable chairs are welcome.
The day's entertainment schedule kicks off at 12pm with a set from DJ Griff. At 2pm, attendees will be treated to live music from Paul and Nancy Tilly, who are widely recognised from their appearances on the television show Britain's Got Talent.
The main event will occur at 3pm, when the new home kit is officially revealed to the public.
Fans at the venue will have the immediate opportunity to purchase the new shirts as they go on sale at the exact same time.
The entertainment will then continue with a second set from Paul and Nancy Tilly at 3.15pm, followed by DJ Griff returning to the decks at 4pm. Later in the evening, Seaside Danny Wilde will perform at 8pm.
For those who cannot make it to Cayton Bay, the home kit will also be revealed online via the club's website and social media channels on Saturday the 20th of June. Online sales will then commence on Sunday the 21st of June through the Pro:Direct club shop.
As preparations for the new campaign gather pace, the Enterprise National League has also confirmed the key dates for the 2026/27 season.
Supporters will find out who Scarborough Athletic will face when the fixture list is released on Friday the 10th of July 2026.
The opening day of the season is scheduled for Saturday the 8th of August 2026, giving the team just a couple of weeks to finalise their preparations after the Barnsley friendly.
The festive football calendar will see Christmas fixtures played on Saturday the 26th and Monday the 28th of December 2026, with the New Year's fixture following shortly after on Saturday the 2nd of January 2027.
The regular season is set to conclude on its final day, Saturday the 24th of April 2027.
For teams chasing promotion, the season will officially wrap up with the Promotion Finals weekend, which will take place across Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of May 2027.
