An impressive £2,300 has been raised for The Rainbow Centre following a successful open garden event at the Mulgrave Estate despite early threats of rain.
Vital funds totalling £2,300 will go towards supporting the work of The Rainbow Centre following a highly successful fundraising event.
The significant sum was collected during the recent Mulgrave Estate Open Garden day, where the charity was chosen to be showcased alongside a variety of fantastic stalls.
Early weather conditions threatened to put a dampener on the morning's proceedings, but the skies cleared and the sun came out right on time for the gates to open to the public.
Visitors to the estate had the opportunity to browse the stalls, purchase homemade goods, and learn more about the community work undertaken by the charity.
A spokesperson for The Rainbow Centre expressed their gratitude to the estate's owners for hosting the event.
They said:
"We had an incredible day with you all, and we would like to say a huge thank you to Lord and Lady Normanby for giving us the wonderful opportunity to raise funds and awareness for The Rainbow Centre."
The charity also highlighted the crucial role played by their dedicated team of helpers who prepared for the open garden.
The spokesperson added:
"A very special thank you also goes to all of our amazing volunteers who stepped up in the build-up to the event — baking incredible cakes and quiches, helping with the planning, and supporting us throughout the day. We truly couldn’t have done it without you."
Attendees contributed to the final total by visiting the stalls, making donations, purchasing the baked goods, and engaging with the volunteers on site.
The day ultimately proved to be a major success for the organisation, securing a significant financial boost for their ongoing projects.
Reflecting on the final fundraising total, the charity's spokesperson said:
"It turned out to be an incredibly successful day, and we are so proud and delighted to announce that we raised an incredible £2,300 for The Rainbow Centre! Thank you to everyone who supported us, visited our stall, bought something, donated, volunteered or simply stopped by for a chat. Your support means so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful. £2,300 raised — what an amazing result!"
