Yorkshire Coast Cricket Round Up

There were some big clashes at both ends of the table in Saturday's cricket.

Seamer & Irton strengthened their promotion hopes as 4th beat 3rd in Championship East.

They had a 94-run victory in a low-scoring derby at Folkton & Flixton.

Gregg Chadwick hit 55 for Seamer, who batted first, posting 156 all out.

While Marley Ward grabbed 4/20, Harry Walmsley took 3/30 and Lewis Chipchase 3/45 for Folkton.

However the hosts then collapsed to 62 all out.

Gary Potter was the hero for Seamer with 6/45 and Caeleb Potter added 2/12.

A derby at North Marine Road, in the same division, saw Scarborough beat Wykeham by three wickets.

Ali Sabir struck a superb 103 for Wykeham, who chose to bat first, as they made 224 all out.

Ben Squires carried his bat to see Scarborough through to victory with 79 not out.

Dan Artley's superb 59 from 34 balls was a big determining factor as Boro won by three wickets with seven overs remaining, as Wykeham sit second-bottom.

Scalby were narrowly edged out at Hull Zingari 2nds.

Brad Walker made 57 not out to help Scalby to 176 after being bowled out off the penultimate ball of their 50 overs.

Jack Felton took a superb 5/23 as Scalby came close to stunning their hosts who got home with just two overs left.

Driffield 2nds stay top after easing past South Holderness.

The visitors made a respectable 237/6 as Ollie Ezard and Owen Goldsworthy took two wickets each.

Ricky Woodmansey then led the response with a tremendous 125 not out as Driff won by nine wickets.

Skipper Goldsworthy added 58 not out as the hosts got home with four overs to spare.

Hornsea stay bottom after a heavy home defeat to Sutton-on-Hull.

Adam Newington took 4/30 as Sutton made 285/9 from 50 overs.

The home side were then blown away in the 34th over for 174 despite Jonathan Fisher's 43.

Bridlington remain second-bottom of Premier 2 after a three-wicket defeat at York 2nds.

Batting first, Casey Rudd's men made a respectable 233/9 from 50 overs.

Opener Tom Norman held things together with 71.

York's opener carried his bat as they got home by three wickets despite 4/62 from Jamie Artley.

Whitby suffered a four-wicket home defeat to Marton 2nds in North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two.

The hosts slumped to 133 all out batting first.

Skipper Tom Steyert took 4/46 but the visitors got home inside 30 overs.

It was a real thriller for Driffield, at Castleford, in Yorkshire Premier North.

Elliot Hatton took 2/62 as Cas posted 236/5 from 50 overs.

Driff then put on a brilliant 106-run opening stand with Jack Redshaw making 67 and Alec Drury 106.

Drury was caught from the final ball of the 50th over as Driffield lost out by just one run.

In Championship Central, Pickering were thumped at Dunnington.

The visitors were shot out inside 25 overs for just 80.

Dunnington then got home by seven wickets, in the 13th over.

It was a lot tighter at Malton where Goole Town won by two wickets.

Malton & Old Malton chose to bat first and made 199/7 from 50 overs.

Skipper Matt Turnbull struck 71, with Dave Brannan adding 66 not out.

Andy Spaven took 3/24 but Goole got home by two wickets in the final over.
