7 Goals, 4 Penalties, 1 Sending Off - And 3 Points For Scarborough Athletic!

The Seadogs were 3-1 down with 17 minutes remaining away at newly-promoted Hednesford Town.

Boro had the dream start, when Luke Hall scored their first goal of the 2026/27 National League North campaign, blasting it in from just outside the penalty area.

Mo Fadera nearly doubled the lead, going one on one on the keeper, but the home stopper saved.

Jack Waldron conceded a penalty for Scarborough, which Hednesford's Omari Stirling-James put away, to make the score 1-1.

Fadera and Colville had good chances for Boro, with Fadera's shot being cleared off the line.

Hednesford scored within a minute of the restart, through Cooke. The Pitmen then gave themselves a two-goal cushion on 67 minutes, scoring their 2nd from the penalty spot, Omari Stirling-James again.

Boro then were awarded a penalty of their own, which Rio Allan blasted into the net.

Seadogs substitute Jake Hull headed in from a corner with 2 minutes of normal time on the clock to equalise for Scarborough.

However within 2 minutes, Hull received his 2nd yellow card of the match and was sent off.

Boro Manager Jono Greening made a defensive substitution, replacing Luke Hall with Michael Duckworth.

But with 6 minutes of stoppage time on the clock, Scarborough were awarded their 2nd penalty and the 4th of the match.

Rio Allan stepped up once more, but this time the keeper saved it. Fortunately, Alex Purver-Hannan was there to square it to Allan, who tapped it into the empty net to send the Boro fans into raptures behind the goal!
