A second defeat to the same opponents in the space of seven days looks to have ended Whitby Town's play-off ambitions for this season.
The Seasiders lost 1-0 to an injury time Gainsborough Trinity goal at the Towbar Express Stadium, on Saturday.
The Lincolnshire side beat them 2-0 at their Northolme HQ last Saturday.
Despite beating Matlock Town by the same score in midweek, Whitby are now looking unlikely to make the top five.
The Blues are nine points adrift of the play-off places with one game in hand on Guiseley.
Manager Nathan Haslam told Whitby Town TV the result was a sickener:
They go to Guisborough Town in the semi-finals of the North Riding Senior Cup on Tuesday night.
