Two men remain in hospital with serious injuries following a collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Volvo V50 on the B1249 near Foxholes.
Two drivers are receiving treatment in hospital for serious injuries following a severe collision near the border of North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire.
The crash occurred on the B1249 between Foxholes and Langtoft at around 8.40pm on the night of Monday 21 September.
A blue Ford Fiesta, driven by an eighteen-year-old man, was travelling from the East Yorkshire and Humberside area when it was involved in a collision with a blue Volvo V50. A forty-eight-year-old man was driving the Volvo in the opposite direction at the time of the incident.
Both motorists sustained serious injuries in the crash and were taken to hospital, where they currently remain for ongoing medical care.
North Yorkshire Police are now leading an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and are asking members of the public for their assistance.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicles beforehand, including anyone who may have dashcam footage of either vehicle or the collision."
Investigating officers are particularly keen to trace the movements of the younger driver's vehicle prior to the crash.
The police spokesperson added:
"In particular, we are appealing to anyone who saw the blue Ford Fiesta as it travelled through Humberside / East Yorkshire and into North Yorkshire, to get in touch."
