Extra equipment has been bought in to clean up Seagull droppings in Scarborough.
Some parts of the town are now being cleaned twice a day in an effort to tackle the problem.
Councillor Keane Duncan says council is doing what it can to fight the Seagull menace.
Speaking at a full meeting of the authority on Wednesday, July 24, Councillor Rich Maw said there was more that could be done including the introduction of a new gull strategy.
He said:
“The guano is actually quite an issue in Scarborough town centre, outside the old Post Office and the old game shop
“I’m hoping that you can confirm that we imminently have a gull strategy in progress that not only benefits humans but also takes into account that the animals themselves will be cared for.”
Councillor Duncan says they will be asking local councillors to help provide identify on problem areas.
