Two dedicated volunteer crew members at Flamborough RNLI have successfully completed their Tier 1 training assessments, marking a significant milestone in their lifesaving journeys.
Lifesaving capabilities off the coast will be bolstered as two volunteer crew members achieve a crucial training milestone.
Diane Johnson and Richard Hockney have successfully completed their Tier 1 pass outs at Flamborough RNLI.
The achievements represent an important step in the development of both volunteers, following significant dedication and commitment to their training and to the station itself.
Ms Johnson joined the Flamborough RNLI volunteer crew around three years ago. Over that period, she has worked consistently to complete the necessary training and assessments required to achieve her Tier 1 status.
Reflecting on her achievement, Diane Johnson said:
'It has taken a lot of hard work and commitment over the last three years, so it’s a great feeling to have finally achieved my Tier 1 pass out. I am very grateful to everyone at the station who has supported and encouraged me along the way, and I am looking forward to continuing my journey with the crew.'
Meanwhile, Mr Hockney joined the local station approximately eighteen months ago. He has also worked hard throughout his training period to reach the exact same milestone as his colleague.
Richard Hockney said:
'I am really pleased to have achieved my Tier 1 pass out after joining the crew 18 months ago. The training has been challenging but extremely rewarding, and I’d like to thank everyone at Flamborough RNLI for the support and encouragement. I am looking forward to continuing to learn and develop as part of the crew.'
Colleagues at the Flamborough station have congratulated both volunteers on their successful pass outs.
The wider team at the lifeboat station thanked the pair for their continued commitment to the charity and to the vital work of saving lives at sea.
