In Championship Central, Pickering grabbed a vital victory at Heworth.
After being put in to bat, the visitors made 251 from exactly 50 overs, Max Harland adding 90.
Heworth were then blown away for 102, Kieran Boyes taking 5/31 and Tim Whincup 3/30.
Malton & Old Malton won even more convincing at home to North Cave Coal Exporters.
The away side were bundled out for only 59 with Matthew Webster taking 4/8.
Malton then raced to victory without losing a wicket to move to second in the division.
Whitby are third in North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two after a tight win.
Visitors Wolviston chose to bat first but were bowled out for just 115.
Matthew Sharpe and Jack Allanson took three wickets each.
