Whitby Coastguard are looking for new volunteers, with full training given across a number of disciplines.
They say opportunities to step up to technician level are available.
Clare Ebison is from HM Coastguard and explained what the training will cover:
You will need to:
- Live or work reasonably locally to a Coastguard Station
- Be available to attend an induction training courses
- Have availability to attend emergency calls during the day and/or night
- Be 18 years old or above and hold a full UK driving licence
- Be in good health and able to pass a Coastguard medical
- Be a team player and train regularly

You must be available to complete your Core Skills training on the following dates;
Monday 7th – Friday 11th October 2024
Friday 25th – Sunday 27th October 2024
This training will be held at Amble in Northumberland and accommodation will be provided.
