Police are appealing for witnesses after a distressing video circulated on social media showing a man kicking a dog on Northway in Scarborough.
An investigation has been launched following an incident in which a man was seen kicking a dog in Scarborough.
The incident took place on Northway at approximately 4.15pm on Thursday 2 April.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed they are responding to the situation after a distressing video of the event began circulating on social media.
A Police statement says:
"Officers have reviewed this footage, and enquiries are underway to locate the suspect, who has been identified."
Authorities are now appealing to the public for further assistance as they work to track down the individual involved.
The statement added:
"Anyone who witnessed the incident itself is asked to email evie.walters@northyorkshire.police.uk, quoting reference 12260059362."
