A 52-year-old man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision between a moped and a car on the B1249 in Langtoft.
A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash on the B1249 in Langtoft, near Driffield.
The incident occurred at around 12.50pm on Friday afternoon, when emergency services were called to reports of a road traffic collision.
According to officers, the crash involved a moped and an electric car travelling in opposite directions on Driffield Road.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
"It is reported a purple Lambretta GP moped was travelling north on Driffield Road when it is believed to have been in collision with a silver Audi Q4 E-tron travelling in the opposite direction."
Following the arrival of emergency services at the scene, the rider of the motorbike was transported to hospital for urgent medical care.
Police confirmed the severity of the rider's condition. They stated:
"Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorbike, a 52-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are thought to be life threatening at this time."
Meanwhile, the driver of the silver Audi is not believed to have sustained any injuries as a result of the incident.
Officers have confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
The police are now appealing to the public for assistance with their investigation, particularly asking for motorists who were in the area at the time to check their vehicles for video evidence. They added:
"Anyone with information including dashcam footage that may assist officers with their ongoing investigation is urged to contact us via our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 222 of 3 April."
