The aftermath of Storm Dave has caused significant travel disruption across the region, with fallen trees blocking the railway line between Scarborough and York, throughout the morning, alongside several local roads.
The Yorkshire Coast is dealing with the aftermath of Storm Dave, which has left a trail of fallen trees and travel disruption across the region.
Commuters and residents are facing widespread issues following the severe weather, with both the rail network and local roads significantly impacted by the conditions.
Rail passengers travelling between Scarborough and York experienced disruptions to their regular services. The issues on the rail network were entirely due to a fallen tree that blocked the line between Malton and York through the morning.
In addition to the railway network, several local roads across the coastal region have been blocked by fallen trees, causing difficulties for motorists and local residents in various towns and villages.
In Filey, the aftermath of Storm Dave has resulted in trees coming down on two separate residential streets. A tree has been reported down on Grange Avenue, whilst another tree is also down on Clarence Drive.
Scarborough has also seen its share of disruption, with reports of trees blocking residential routes in the town. A tree has come down on Evelyn Drive, and there is an additional report of a large tree down just off Lady Edith’s Drive.
Rural routes have not escaped the impact of the storm either. A tree is currently blocking Sneaton back lane, situated near Sneatonthorpe.
