The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough, which has supported vulnerable people in the local community for almost 27 years, has announced a new fundraising initiative called the "Rainbow 100 Club".
The centre aims to enlist 100 local businesses to commit to monthly donations to provide a guaranteed income stream.
Jo Laking, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rainbow Centre, says the new initiative is about engaging with businesses rather than members of the public
The Rainbow Centre team are looking for 100 businesses to become exclusive members of the 100 club with each business committing to a monthly donation.
Jo says that having that regular funding will help the centre apply for other funding streams.
The Rainbow Centre provides a variety of essential services for those in need, including a food bank, café, debt advice service, hot showers, laundry facilities, access to clothing, toiletries, bedding, and start-up packs for new homes.
Jo says the centre is facing increasing costs and is looking for new ways of raising funds to provide its services.
The Rainbow 100 Club offers four levels of membership, each with a different monthly donation: Bronze (£100), Silver (£250), Gold (£500), and Platinum (£1000). The Rainbow Centre emphasizes that any monthly donation qualifies for corporate tax relief.
Businesses that become members of the Rainbow 100 Club will receive several benefits, including:
- A regular newsletter detailing how their donations have been spent, including statistics and testimonials from clients.
- A Rainbow 100 Club plaque to display at their premises.
- A letterhead and email membership marque.
- Corporate volunteering opportunities for their employees.
- Regular social media and press output promoting the Rainbow 100 Club members.
- A 10% discount on Rainbow Centre fundraising events, including the annual Rainbow Ball.
Jo says the idea is to create partnerships with the 100 club members, she says being a part of the club will bring benefits to the businesses.
The Rainbow Centre is urging interested businesses to sign up as soon as possible, as membership is strictly limited to 100. Jo Laking says local firms can get involved just by emailing the team at info@therainbowcenter.org
Jo says there will also be the opportunity for staff members of 100 Club firms to get involved.
The Rainbow Centre says that every single penny they raise is spent in the Rainbow Centre and remains in Scarborough.
