Christmas is coming early to the Yorkshire Coast as the popular Bridmas Day returns to Bridlington with a host of festive activities in the middle of summer.
Festive cheer will take over Bridlington on Wednesday as a popular summer Christmas event returns to the coast.
The seaside town will once again be transformed into a festive spectacular bringing family entertainment and seasonal activities to residents and visitors.
Following the success of previous years, organisers promise this year's event will be bigger and better than ever, celebrating all things Christmas in the middle of summer while showcasing Bridlington as a year-round destination.
A packed programme of free entertainment is scheduled to take place across South Beach, Bridlington Promenade, Bridlington Spa, Sewerby Hall and Gardens, and East Riding Leisure Bridlington.
Families can enjoy a wide range of free activities throughout the day, including Santa's Grotto, festive face painting, Christmas crafts, live music performances, and bubble shows.
Appearances from Santa and his elves will highlight the entertainment on South Beach, alongside a Christmas Tree and Snow Angel stilt walker.
Interactive activities hosted by Active Coast and performances from Coastal Voices will also feature on the beach throughout the day.
Meanwhile, live organ performances and the Driffield Brass Band will bring seasonal music to the promenade.
Visitors to the promenade will also have the opportunity to meet a local ice sculptor and the 'Melt'em John' gritter, alongside Learn 2 Ride cycling sessions and the Adult Learning Bus.
Free screenings of The Grinch will be available for families at Bridlington Spa, which must be booked in advance, while East Riding Libraries and Sewerby Hall and Gardens will host festive activities, including Mr Bubbles' festive bubble show and face painting.
A popular Christmas Cracker Trail will run across multiple locations in the town, offering visitors the chance to win a variety of festive prizes.
Those who successfully complete the trail will be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to Christmas at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, the Santa Express, Bridlington Spa's Cinderella pantomime, The Edge: Aerial Adventure attraction, and concerts at Bridlington Spa.
Special one-day discounts of ten per cent will also be available for pantomime tickets, Santa Express journeys, Christmas at Sewerby Hall, and The Edge.
Local businesses are being encouraged by organisers at East Riding of Yorkshire Council to join in the fun by decorating their premises, dressing in festive attire, and helping spread Christmas cheer throughout the town.
