Scarborough Lions are hosting their new years day dip today for the first time in two years.
Scarborough's New Years Day Dip will be taking place for the first time in two years today as hundreds of brave dippers take a plunge in the North Sea.
The fundraising event is organised by the Scarborough Lions.
Rob Hunter from the group says there will be a couple of alterations to this years event.
The fundraising event will see hundreds of dippers from across the country run into the north sea at lunchtime.
As in previous years dippers are encouraged to get sponsorship for a charity of their choice. 75% of the money they collect will go to their charity of choice with the remaining 25% kept by the Lions to help those in need in the local area.
There will be prizes on the day for the best team fancy dress, the best individual fancy dress and the best child under 11 fancy dress.
Rob Hunter from the lions says dippers can register at the event today.
Registration will start at 10:30 on New Years Day at the Lions Minibus, there will be changing facilities available at the rowing club.
Dippers will then gather on the beach at 12:20pm with the Mayor judging the fancy dress at 12:30, the town crier will then start the dip at 12:45pm.
The Registration Form is available here https://e-clubhouse.org/userfiles/3728/file/2022%20Registration%20Form%20001%20(002).jpg
