Scarborough Cavaliers Rotary Club is once again organising the town’s Community Fair, which this year will take place on Saturday, August 14 from 10.00am along Westborough.
Sadly the Fair, which had been held every year in the town since 1999, had to be cancelled in 2020 owing to Covid-19.
Club President, Andrew Green said :
“We are delighted to be able to bring the Fair back to Westborough and very pleased that the Council has given us their full support.”
“We feel that this year’s Fair will give local charities and voluntary organisations a great opportunity to relaunch themselves after the challenges of the pandemic,”
Any local charity or voluntary organization interested in taking a stall at the Fair can email Scarborough.Cavaliers@gmail.com
Due to financial support from the Yorkshire Coast BID stallholders will only have to pay £10 for a table, with double tables at £20.
This year the Rotary Club are also looking to build on the success of previous years, thanks to the support of the BID by providing street entertainment as an added bonus for shoppers.
The Mayor has been invited to judge the “best dressed stall”, which gives the stallholders the opportunity to be creative and inventive with their table displays.
It is always a real treat on the day to see what the stallholders do to attract visitors to their stalls from terrific tombolas, riotous raffles, to colourful cakes and marvellous marmalades.
Several stallholders also appear in themed fancy dress that adds to the entertainment and the spectacle.
The Rotary Club will itself have a stall selling plants and other items to raise funds for its chosen local charities.
