The abolition of Scarborough Borough Council next April won't stop major funding projects in the area from being delivered.
That's the reassurance from council bosses who say the borough has done well in attracting large amounts of Government funding for redevelopment projects, many of which won't be completed before the borough council disappears.
North Yorkshire County Council Chief Exec - Richard Flinton - says the new authority will pick up the reins.
The Borough successfully bid for millions of pounds of Government town deal funding - but the projects it will deliver wont be finished before the Borough Council is abolished in less than a year's time.
Borough Council Chief Exec - Michael Greene - says the new unitary authority will take on the projects and in the meantime they continue at pace.
