One of the county's senior health leaders says the rise in Indian variant cases makes getting a vaccine jab even more important.
There were 4,182 new cases of coronavirus identified in the UK yesterday, the highest daily total since the start of April.
It comes amid concerns about the spread of the Indian variant of the disease.
However it does seem that Covid vaccines appear to be very effective against the mutation.
The latest data from Public Health England shows only three percent of cases are among people who've had both doses.
Amanda Bloor from the NHS in the county says it's now even more important that people go back for their second dose:
As concerns rise about the spread of the Indian variant of COVID-19 health leaders in North Yorkshire says they are on track to give the entire adult population of the county a first dose of a vaccine by the end of July.
