North Yorkshire's Fire and Rescue service is continuing to recruit on-call fire fighters as they head into their busiest time of year.
The service say the vast size of the county means they will always have a need for part-time rescue workers.
Director of Service Improvement - Damian Henderson - says it's especially important as they approach the summer season.
On-call firefighters are trained firefighters who, rather than being based at a fire station, provide on-call cover from home and/or their place of work.
On-call firefighters declare the periods in a week when they are available to respond to emergencies if called upon. During these times they must remain within approximately four minutes travel time of their fire station to provide a response as they travel to the fire station where they then travel to the emergency in a fire service vehicle.
The fire and rescue service says the shear size of the county means they will always have a reliance on the part-time fire fighters.
Damian Henderson is encouraging more people to consider joining the on-call team.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have 25 On-call fire stations, six stations which have both a wholetime and on-call crew and two volunteer stations.
