The majority of COVID patients requiring intensive care in North Yorkshire's hospitals have not been vaccinated against the virus.
The County's chief Nurse, Sue Peckitt says they also tend to be older patients:
The number of people requiring hospital treatment for COVID in North Yorkshire has been trending downwards over recent weeks.
But public health consultant Dr Victoria Turner says that looks likely to change over the next week or two as Omicron infections start to take effect:
