Filey plays host to the ceremonial finish of the Trackrod rally on Saturday afternoon.
Rally cars from both the British Historic Rally Championship and the BTRDA championship will arrive on Filey seafront at around 3pm today.
Based again in Filey, the rally features the penultimate rounds of the national Protyre BTRDA Rally Series, including an eclectic mix of modern and classic rally cars, and the Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Championship, where vehicles date back to the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Keith McGhie from the Trackrod team says there could be a historic finish for one Yorkshire driver:
Other big names who are taking part in the forest stages of the rally today include ex-British Champion Mark Higgins, looking to make an impact among the historics in a 3.5 LITRE V8 Triumph TR7 and current Historic championship leader Seb Perez in an equally eye-catching and potent 3-litre Porsche 911.
Veteran multiple former Trackrod victor Steve Bannister campaigns his trademark Ford Escort, while 2006 Trackord Rally Yorkshire winner Ryan Champion stepped off of a plane from Chile last Tuesday to act as guide and tutor to Thomas Bell in another Tuthill Porsche in which the driver hopes to undertake next year’s Classic Safari Rally.
Recommended Spectator stages take place at Cropton today for 09:20 and Dalby from 1:30pm,
The traditional Champagne spraying is due to take place back on Filey’s Beach Road shortly after 3pm.
Keith McGhie says the combination of the two events means there will be a raft of rally cars to see in Filey later.
