There are Environment Agency flood warnings in place for Scarborough Foreshore Road and Sandside areas for Monday afternoon. There are also alerts for Whitby down to Filey.
Strong winds are expected to cause large waves and spray affecting Scarborough this afternoon, from approximately 12.30pm to 3.00pm.
Areas likely to be affected are paths and promenades along Foreshore Road and Sandside in Scarborough.

Unsettled weather will continue throughout the week, with high tides forecast later in the week, which may require further alerts and warnings to be issued in this area. We are monitoring the situation and forecasts closely.

The Environment Agency say stay away from coastal paths and promenades in this area, as large waves and spray can be dangerous.
There are also alerts in place for the entire North Sea Coast from Whitby to Filey. People are told to be prepared.
