An East Riding Councillor has asked colleagues to raise the profile of the speed indicator devices on the area's roads.
Here's Councillor Tony Henderson:
Councillor Henderson also said that inadequate signage means that residents are still concerned about speeding traffic near schools- even with 20 miles per hour zones in place.
He says that there are around 16 deaths and injuries to children, in the UK, every week and that most of these occur when they are travelling to and from school.
The councillor wants to see signage used well before school entrances:
He received support from Councillor Dale Needham and Councillor Leo Hammond, who said the Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison had made funding available and that there are trials going on around community speed cameras, with the outcome of those trials expected by the end of the year.
