For the first time in two years COVID was not the number one reason for staff absence at North Yorkshire Police this week.
North Yorkshire Police say that on Thursday this week, for the first time in two years, COVID was not the number one reason for staff absence.
Assistant Chief Constable, Mike Walker, says seasonal sickness pushed Coronavirus in to second place.
Over the last 12 months COVID does remain the number one reason for staff absence through illness at North Yorkshire Police
| Absence Reason | 12 Month Total |
|---|---|
| Coronavirus | 849 |
| Cold/Flu | 566 |
| Sickness | 225 |
| Migraine | 146 |
However, Assistant Chief Constable Walker says across the force the overall absence numbers remain low and says that seeing COVID drop off the top spot of the daily absence list is a welcome development.
