North Yorkshire Police say the road has now reopened.
The A165 was closed earlier as emergency services dealt with an incident at the level crossing on the A165 near the Royal Oak pub, Filey.
Traffic had been diverted through Filey when the road closed at around 1:30pm.
Officers reported the road had reopened at just after 3:20pm.
Northern Rail say the incident affected train services with cancellations on the Scarborough to Bridlington Line. They now say the lines are reopen and services are expected to return to normal.
"Following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bridlington and Scarborough all lines have now reopened.
Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 18:00 "
