Cristiano Ronaldo has said the new football season is "probably" his last.
In an interview with Vogue, the 41-year-old Portuguese star said: "This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy.
"I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one.
"And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I've earned - what we've earned. Because after all, it's been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice."
Ronaldo, who last week married his partner Georgina Rodríguez, had already said the 2026 World Cup would be his last.
Portugal were knocked out by Spain in the last 16 and Ronaldo's performances were the subject of much debate.
The forward, widely acknowledged to be one of the sport's greatest-ever players, needs only 24 more goals to reach 1,000 across his whole career, a target he is believed to have in mind before hanging up his boots.
He is contracted to the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr until 2027. The team tops the Saudi Pro League after one game.
Among his many achievements, he has won league titles in England, Spain and Italy, along with five Champions League titles and five Ballons d'Or.

He captained Portugal to the 2016 European Championship and to two Nations League victories.
He is also Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer and is the top goalscorer in men's international football history, having scored 146 goals for Portugal.
His longtime rival, Lionel Messi, said last week that he was having doubts about how long he would continue playing following the recent death of his father, Jorge.
