Firefighters serving the Yorkshire Coast experienced a busy weekend, attending a range of incidents across the area and rescuing two trapped shoppers.

Out near Whitby, crews investigated a report of a campfire started next to moorland but found no fire upon arrival. A crew from Filey also investigated smoke sighted in Primrose Valley on Friday night, which was determined to be attended controlled burning.

The incident resulted in damage to an item outside the property and smoke damage to the living room inside, following fire spread. Occupiers were out of the property when fire crews arrived, and no injuries were reported. Police also attended this incident.
