With just over a year until the council ceases to exist is there enough time for the borough council to put a future plan in place?
It seems unlikely that there will be development on Scarborough's Futurist Theatre site in the lifetime of Scarborough Borough Council.
That's the view of Conservative councillor David Chance, who says with the Borough Council ceasing to exist in just over a year's time and Flamingo Land having withdrawn there interest in the site it now seems that the decision about what happens next to the site will fall to the new unitary authority.
Councillor Chance says Conservative Councillors on Scarborough Borough Council are concerned about situation with the futurist theatre site in the town following last week's announcement by Flamingo Land that they are no longer interested in the site.
And he's also concerned about the information that has been provided to councillors over the progress on the site.
