Conservative councillors in Scarborough and Whitby say they are disappointed that Flamingo Land have withdrawn their interest in the towns Futurist site.
Discussions with Flamingo Land about developing an attraction on the site started under a conservative lead council.
This week Flamingo Land boss Gordon Gibb said he was no longer interested in the site after a lack of engagement from the councils current leader.
Councillor David Chance says the Labour administration are to blame for the lack of progress at the site:
On Monday, council leader Steve Siddons said the authority was continuing to work with Flamingo Land on the site.
On Thursday flamingo land owner Gordon Gibb said he hadn't heard from the leader since shortly after he was elected in 2019.
