The Seasiders won 4-3 away at FC United Of Manchester last night in the Northern Premier League.
The win takes Whitby into 6th spot, level on points with Buxton in 5th. This leaves the Blues outside the playoff positions on goal difference only.
It was a frantic start to the game with Whitby scoring on 6 minutes through Green before the home side equalised 2 minutes later.
Then, incredibly just a minute later Whitby were back in front through Brad Fewster. He then scored a 2nd on 31 minutes to give Whitby a two-goal cushion before United pulled one back shortly before half time.
The home side scored an equaliser on 59 minutes through Aaron Morris to break Whitby hearts but it was all to play for with 30 more minutes of football to come. And on 70 minutes Jacob Hazel put the Seasiders back into the lead in what would prove to be the final and winning goal in a thrilling game at Broadhurst Park.
The win also takes Whitby to within a point of Scarborough and with a game in hand.
