FA Cup Action Returns To Whitby As The Seasiders Seek Revenge Against Ashton United

Whitby Town will host Ashton United in the FA Cup this Saturday, welcoming back their captain and potentially handing a debut to a new teenage signing as they look to avenge an earlier league defeat.

FA Cup football will return to Whitby this Saturday as the local side looks to spark a cup run.

The Seasiders host fellow Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ashton United at three o'clock, aiming to avenge a recent result. Ashton United previously beat the Blues two-nil away from home in the league, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rematch on the Yorkshire Coast.

Squad reinforcements will boost the home side ahead of the vital clash. Skipper Stuart Rose returns to the team, bringing valuable experience back to the pitch. Fans may also witness a new face in the lineup, as teenage prospect Leon Parker could make his first appearance. Parker recently joined the club on loan from Middlesbrough.

The magic of the knockout tournament remains a significant draw for the squad.

Skipper Stuart Rose told Whitby Town TV:

"The FA Cup is massive, isn't it? We look everybody. These are the games you want to play in, FA Cup games, you know, when you obviously growing up or whatever, everyone wants to play in the FA Cup. And yeah, it's a it's a it's going to be a big day, big occasion. I'm glad we got a home draw as well. We know Ashton well, obviously, they beat us earlier in the season. So we've got a good opportunity to maybe go to our home ground and put it right. There's a lot to look forward to and we just need to make sure we're right from that first minute. And yeah, maybe get ourselves on a little bit of a cup run."

Supporters unable to attend the fixture in person can still follow every kick of the ball. Full live commentary of the match will be broadcast on This Is The Coast Extra.

Additional build-up and reaction is also available for fans online. The latest episode of the Codcast features further insights from Rose and Parker, alongside an interview with Blues boss Lee Bullock.

Kick off at the Towbar Express Stadium is 3pm.
