Whitby Town Target League Form Improvement

The Blues won in the FA Cup last weekend, but have lost their latest three games in the NPL Premier.

Gary Liddle is the Whitby Town player-manager.

With Nathan McGinley doubtful and another defender, Alex Nelson suspended, after a second yellow card at Lancaster, last weekend, Liddle told Whitby Town TV he might need to draft himself back into the side:

" Yeah, I might have to get my boots back on for that one, but no we'll just see. We'll just see how people get on. Obviously Nelson's gonna be suspended for that. But the main thing for me is that, other than Ginners, we haven't really had any other injuries in there.

"There's a few bumps and bruises as you'd expect with hard fought victories like that, but. On the whole no, I think everyone else will be all right. Hopefully we can keep progressing and I, I'm looking forward now and hoping that we can take the momentum and the positive stuff that, that we have done into a tough game at Ilkeston."

Liddle will hope to have injured midfielders Michael Woods, Lewis Hawkins and Layton Watts, as well as left-back Sam Collins back soon.

You can hear more from the Blues chief, plus midfielders Harley Dawson and Jarret Rivers, on this week's Whitby Town Codcast

The last time the sides meet at Ilkeston's New Manor Ground, the Derbyshire side won 5-1, almost exactly a year ago, on September 7th 2024.

Kick-off on Saturday is 3.00pm with full commentary on This Is The Coast Extra.
