Whitby Town Football Club has partnered with SENDUre to offer children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities free access to first-team matches for the 2026/27 season.
Whitby Town Football Club has announced a new partnership with SENDUre that will see children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities given free access to first-team matches throughout the 2026/27 season.
The initiative aims to increase opportunities for young people within the SEND community to experience live sport. It also focuses on helping to make football more accessible and inclusive for families across Whitby and the surrounding area.
Under the agreement, members of the SENDUre community will be able to attend Pitching In Northern Premier League fixtures free of charge. This will allow more children and young people to enjoy matchday experiences that may otherwise be difficult to access.
The partnership brings together two organisations committed to improving opportunities within the local community. Whitby Town hopes the scheme will encourage greater participation in sport and help create lasting memories for young supporters and their families.
Club officials say the new scheme is an important part of their community focus.
"The initiative reflects the club's wider commitment to ensuring football remains open and accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or circumstance."
SENDUre, which supports children, young people, and families within the SEND community, welcomed the partnership and the opportunities it will provide for its members during the coming season.
The scheme is expected to benefit families from across Whitby and the wider region.
It will give young people the chance to experience the atmosphere of live football and feel part of the local sporting community.
The partnership marks another step in Whitby Town's ongoing community engagement programme, with the club continuing to develop initiatives aimed at making football more inclusive and accessible to all.
