Whitby Town are looking to bounce back against Warrington Town this Saturday, boosted by the arrival of defender Mike Hodgson from the USA.
A crucial home fixture awaits Whitby Town this Saturday as the Blues look to bounce back against Warrington Town in the NPL Premier.
The Seasiders' defensive line will be bolstered by a fresh arrival following the signing of centre-half Mike Hodgson. The Scarborough-born defender returns to the local area after an extensive seven-year spell in the United States, where he gained experience as a college player-coach in Illinois. The new signing is expected to go straight into the squad for the weekend's clash.
Preparations for the match have heavily focused on countering the visitors' robust playing style. Midfielder Mo Gashi remains confident that the team can secure a positive result at home, relying on the support of the local fans to help push them over the line.
Gashi told Whitby Town TV it'll be a battle:
"Yeah, well, we're being made aware of how physical they are. I know it's at home so I always back us at home. It's It's obviously we've got our home crowd behind us and I feel like every team is physical, I feel like guys who are physical. and it's just yeah, it's just trying to find ways to beat teams and our back, our back is a squad and I feel like we can compete against any any team in the league. So, we'll go again. We'll give them a good run for their money."
The Cheshire side signed midfielder Ewan Bange from Bamber Bridge over the summer. He notoriously clashed with then Blues defender Frankie Whelan, last season, with the Whitby stopper sent-off and spending time in hospital with a head injury.
Kick off on Saturday is 3pm at the Towbar Express Stadium.

There will be a minute's applause, before the game, for supporter Paul Rhea, who passed away in tragic circumstances recently.
