Hornsea Inshore Rescue were called out on Saturday by Humber Coastguard to multiple reports of a paddleboarder last seen off Hornsea Beach.
Promptly launched, the lifeboat Spirit of Hornsea proceeded to conduct search patterns covering from Hornsea to North Cliff in an attempt to locate the casualty alongside Coastguard Rescue helicopter 912.
After 2 hours of searching the area with nothing found the lifeboat crew of Jake Roberts, Adam Collins and Carl Handley along with Coxswain Karl Shannon and Launch Master Rob Prince were stood down and the lifeboat recovered to station to be refuelled, washed down ready for service.
Hornsea Inshore Rescue’s boat and crew remain on call 24/7, 365 days a year, to respond to emergencies along the coast. They say:
