Firefighters were called after reports of gas cylinders ablaze on a vehicle 10 miles south of Scarborough, on Saturday.
The incident happened just before 12 noon.
Crews from Scarborough responded to a 7.5 ton vehicle carrying gas cylinders on fire.
On arrival, officers used a hose reel to extinguish a small fire. The cylinders were unaffected.
