Two men have been arrested after reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A165 near to Beeford yesterday evening.
Humberside Police say they were called at around 10pm last night (Wednesday 27 March) to reports that a car collided with a lamp post before allegedly driving off. It is believed that two men later returned to the scene.
Nobody is believed to have been injured as a result of the collision.
Officers then spotted a vehicle on Church Lane and two men nearby who officers suspected may have been involved in the collision.
A 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The 29-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled class B drug.
Officers say:
"Both remain in our custody whilst our enquiries continue.
