Newby and Scalby Town Council wont be in the trial but will be keen to the outcomes.
A trial scheme which could see parish and town councils take over the running of some local services in North Yorkshire is being watched with interest by local councils.
Reg Towse is Chair of Newby and Scalby Town Council, he says they wont be involved in the trial itself but could take on services in the future.
While Newby and Scalby wont be taking part in the trial of "Double Devolution" in North Yorkshire, it will be watching with interest.
The scheme could see parish and town councils take over running some local services from the new unitary council.
Reg Towse says that while some local councils, like Whitby, have applied to be part of the trial, the team in Newby and Scalby are waiting to see what happens.
