Weather conditions are believed to have caused the issue earlier this afternoon.
The temporary TV transmitter which was set up to provide service to large parts of North Yorkshire after the main Bilsdale mast was destroyed by fire appears to have gone off-air.
Viewers report that the picture disappeared at around 1:45pm today.
Freeview have tweeted that transmission company Arqiva have reported that
"there is currently no service on many channels for those taking a signal from the temporary Bilsdale transmitter. Please do not retune while Arqiva investigate."
In a later post on Twitter Freeview say that service has been restored.
