The county's police and crime commissioner wants to tackle speeding in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire has six thousand miles of roads but currently no fixed speed camera's.
The county has relied up to now on mobile speed camera vans, but the county's police and crime commissioner now wants to review that situation.
Philip Allott says the county's roads provide some unique challenges for the police.
As well as potentially introduce fixed speed camera's in some locations Philip Allott says there will also be more officers on the roads as the size of the road policing group is to be increased.
