A senior North Yorkshire councillor has had his say on a controversial school transport vote.
Authority members voted by 45 votes to 35 against a motion to revert to using ‘catchment’ to decide eligibility for free school transport.
This despite complaints from parents and campaigners.
It means North Yorkshire Council will only offer free transport to a child’s nearest school.
