The pup had become entangled in fishing net.
The team from Sea Life Scarborough were called out last week to rescue a stranded seal pup.
Staff from the centre managed to release the seal from the netting and watch him return to the sea.

The team said:
"He had been entangled in a fishing net and by the look of things he had been for a while.
Luckily, there were no injuries to the seal pup. However, if we hadn't found him when we did then as he got older the net would have got tighter around his neck and given him a very nasty wound.
Once he was cut free we gave him a quick once over, then marked him with some blue dye so we can monitor him if he returns.
As we were leaving we saw him returning to the sea.
We hope that this will remind everyone to always pick up any litter on the beach and to always report any animals that seem to be in any stress."
