A number of Trans Pennine Express Services to and from Scarborough have been cancelled.
Staff at the station say the 0934, 1034 and 1134 services from Scarborough have been cancelled this morning.
Staff shortages are the cause of the cancellations in part due to staff absence though sickness and COVID but TransPennine has also been experiencing staffing issues due to industrial action.
Yesterday a number of services were cancelled in advance because of the action.
TransPennine say:
"Services across our network over the coming days may be subject to delays and short-notice cancellations due to a lack of available staff caused by industrial relations issues.
We are doing all we can to keep you on the move and, as ever, our aim is to provide you with a stable and reliable service as we know you put your faith in TransPennine Express to get you where you need to be.
We are sorry for any disruption this may cause to journeys in the coming days and ask you to allow additional time for travel and to check carefully – up to the last minute – for any changes to train times. "
For some services today (Monday 20th December) TransPennine's website says that tickets can be used on Coastliner buses.
"Customers are advised that there is ticket acceptance in place with Coastliner between York and Scarborough as replacement transport today. Passengers then are advised to change for the next available TransPennine Express service to your destination. Please check station information boards or speak to a member of staff for details of pick up points.
If you require connecting services, Please speak to staff or check information screens."
