Scarborough to be Featured on Songs of Praise 3rd March 2024
The 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is to be recognised as part of this Sundays Songs of Praise as it comes from Scarborough.
Presenter, Rev Canon Kate Bottley joins the celebrations as she takes to the high seas on board the Scarborough Lifeboat in a training exercise and hears from the chaplain about the role faith plays in supporting the crew.
Kate explores the importance of faith to Grace Darling, a young Christian whose involvement in a courageous sea rescue, in 1838, lead to her national fame and becoming an icon of the RNLI.
Music and Hymns that were some of the favourites of the Seafarers, will be included and the programme is on Sunday 4th March at 1:15pm.
