Scarborough Seafest returns next weekend from the 17th to the 19th of July, bringing three days of free maritime celebrations, live entertainment, and culinary demonstrations to its new venue at Scarborough Spa.
Scarborough Seafest is set to return to the Yorkshire Coast next weekend, bringing three days of live entertainment, food, culture, and family fun to a brand new location.
Running from Friday the 17th of July to Sunday the 19th of July 2026, the much-loved free community festival will be hosted at Scarborough Spa for the very first time.
The new venue will offer attendees a spectacular setting overlooking South Bay, as thousands of visitors are expected to gather to celebrate the town's rich maritime heritage.
This year's event holds particular historical significance, as it forms a key part of the wider Scarborough 400 celebrations. These events mark exactly 400 years since the town was established as Britain's first seaside spa resort.
Throughout the three-day festival, visitors will be treated to an exciting and diverse programme of events showcasing the very best of the region's arts and culture.
The weekend will feature an array of live music performances, street entertainment, and local art exhibitions.
Families are heavily catered for, with dedicated family activities, face painting, and an opportunity to browse through various craft stalls alongside an extensive selection of food and drink traders.
Festival organisers said:
"A major highlight of the festival will be a series of live cooking demonstrations from some of the region's leading chefs and culinary experts, celebrating the Yorkshire Coast's thriving food scene and local produce. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch professional chefs in action, learn new techniques and discover the stories behind some of the area's finest food businesses."
The festival aims to honour the historic connection Scarborough shares with the sea, while simultaneously providing an engaging weekend for all ages.
A spokesperson for the event said:
"The family-friendly event is designed to offer something for everyone, whether visitors are interested in Scarborough's maritime history, enjoying live entertainment, browsing local crafts or simply spending time by the seaside with friends and family."
Organisers are promising a spectacular atmosphere throughout the entire weekend, with local bands and musicians scheduled to perform across the event.
The celebrations will culminate in a special schedule of entertainment for Saturday evening.
Organisers confirmed that a fireworks display is planned for Saturday night, which will take place before the headline act, Sunbeam, perform in the Spa Grand Hall.
With completely free admission and a packed programme of activities, organisers are encouraging both residents and visitors to head down to Scarborough Spa next weekend to enjoy one of the town's most anticipated summer events.
