Reports suggest a lightning storm on Sunday evening ignited buildings in a field at Great Habton.
The village in the Vale of Pickering was hit by heavy thunder like much of the area from around 7pm.
There are reports that the blaze coincided with the storm.
Firefighters are at the scene.
