The Manager of Scarborough's Rainbow Center, Trish Kinsella, has announced that she is retiring from her role.
Trish began working at the Rainbow Centre over twenty years ago as volunteer co-ordinator - she has been the manager for the last decade.
Trish says it's been a real journey.
Trish has spent 23 years working at the social action project and says she has seen the centre grow from a small homeless project into a cornerstone of the community.
Trish's dedication and service to the centre and surrounding community was been recognised last year as Trish won the UK Smile Maker Award.
Trish announced her retirement from the Rainbow Center in a social media post saying:
"I Just want to let you know that after almost 23 years I will be retiring from the Rainbow Centre in the next 2 months. So in a few weeks I will be leaving the place where I have worked and been a part of for more than 3 decades.
It has been my passion and my privilege to have worked with some of the most amazing people both those who have come to the Rainbow for help and support and those I have had the pleasure to have worked alongside and who have become my family.
We have seen so many changes in the time since I started in 2000 from meeting with 2 or 3 people a day to the huge amount who come in now for support in these most difficult times We have seen lives turned round and those who had no hope leave here knowing there was hope and they could see a future.
I have loved my work here and it has all been done in the name of Jesus who brought me here. Many challenges and many tears but many laughs and many joys. Thank you to you all for the support you have been to me over the years and I am not going away so will still be down the bottom end and on the cliffs walking my dogs"
The Rainbow Centre is celebrating it's 25th birthday later this month and is planning a weekend of celebrations including an open day on Saturday September 17th from 10am until 4pm.
