171 COVID fines were issued in the Scarborough Borough in December, more than anywhere else in North Yorkshire.
Now Police officers in Scarborough have shared details about some of the indoor gatherings that have taken place and thanked those who have reported the incidents.
Officers say..
"Over the last month our teams responded to several reports of house parties and indoor gatherings at homes across the Scarborough district.
From an 18th birthday party to a house party with nearly 30 people and a celebration in a garage, attendees from several different households were fined for breaching Covid restrictions.
Parties and indoor gatherings put everyone’s safety at risk and under the Coronavirus restrictions, they are against the law. Thank you to those who have reported incidents to us so far and thank you to everyone following the guidance and staying at home.
Please be assured, our teams are continuing their proactive patrols across the district, as well as responding to reports of restriction breaches, and we will be doing everything we can to help keep you safe."
