A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody following a violent assault that occurred on Sunday night.
The incident took place on Aberdeen Walk, where police received reports of a fight around 10:45 PM on September 7, 2025. .
Upon arrival, officers found a man bleeding from a head wound, who was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities quickly initiated an investigation, leading to the identification of a suspect.
The following day, on Monday, September 8, a Police Community Support Officer spotted the suspect on Albermarle Crescent. Although the suspect attempted to flee, he was apprehended shortly thereafter while hiding in an alleyway.
The suspect has been charged with Section 18 wounding and intimidating a witness. After being remanded overnight, he appeared at York Magistrates Court, where he was ordered to remain in custody until his next court date at York Crown Court on October 20, 2025.
This swift action by Scarborough Police has been praised as a significant effort to ensure community safety in the area.
